On the bench

A light brick is a small idea with a large effect. Drop one into the cab of a model and the model suddenly has a crew. The pack covers red, yellow, green, blue, white and multicolour at two of each, which is enough to light a scene rather than a single point, and each brick works on its own without wiring, hubs or a battery box hidden somewhere in the build.

How it behaves in a build

Switching is mechanical: hold the base and turn the top about thirty degrees. That is worth knowing before you build, because a brick buried deep inside a sealed model cannot be switched off, and the cell will run down. Leave an access path or put the brick near a removable panel. Reviews on this pack are mixed and the honest summary is that these are display lights — bright and cheerful in a dim room, modest under a desk lamp.

Fit and compatibility

Moulded to the standard two by two stud footprint for a tight fit with bricks from all the major brands.

    These are great!

    I’ll be buying more of these for sure, the only downside is I don’t have a use for some colors and I wish I could just buy more of the plain white ones!
